Sexual market value and sexual competition

Under the premise that optimal sexual experiences, followed by a comfortable death, are the only meaningful aspects of life, sexual competition becomes more pronounced.

In this model, the likelihood of sexual success for both men and women depends on two factors: their capability to compete (their strategic competence) and their sexual market value.

In a hypothetical free market for sexual partners, the most competent men with a high sexual market value attract the largest number of the most desirable female partners.

By definition, the "best" men are always a minority. This framework argues that these men face the reality that the vast majority of people are envious and wish to introduce rules ensuring they also receive what they believe to be their fair share (e.g., monogamous pairing, or one man for every woman). Such rules are often argued to manifest in the form of religions and social orders.
