Who needs "sexual security"

By Serge Kreutz (2010)

"Sexual security" is a new term. It could mean many things: to be secure from venereal diseases when having intercourse (but there already is a word for that: safe sex); it could also mean that a person is assured of the availability of a sexual outlet whenever he needs one (theoretically, a marriage would guarantee this kind of a secure supply, or disposal, route). The term could also mean that women who do not want sex are safe from being approached in what they would consider an indecent manner (thus an absence of sexual harassment; but this is not what I mean).

In this article, and whenever I touch the topic in other articles, "sexual security" refers to the threat of becoming entangled in criminal procedures because of one's pursue of sexual pleasures and satisfaction.

Sexual security is of concern in some countries more than in others. Those who have sexual contacts in the US have to be more aware of potential legal pitfalls than those who have sexual contacts in France. In Asia, one has to be much more careful in the Philippines than in Thailand.

To achieve a higher degree of sexual security requires measures in very different areas. Proper knowledge of the sexual laws of a land is one very important aspect. Based on the laws of a land are strategies for having sexual conduct that carry little risk of having to stand in court. While those countries that are comparatively secure (a political system that grants a high degree of personal and sexual freedom, with little danger for men to get framed) tend to be the most popular, there often are windows of opportunities in other countries which present themselves only to those knowledgeable and properly prepared for the local situation.

We try to provide such knowledge.

Editing note: This is just an introductory article for the topic. There are ample opportunities for contributors to elaborate on specific topics, for example the legal situation in a country they know well. Another topic would be on the particular dangers of sexual conduct in certain countries (the likelihood of getting framed, hints on avoiding getting framed). Contributor articles should be well referenced. --- Apart from articles on the legal situation in a specific country, contributors could also provide articles on do-it-yourself technologies for technical control systems, such as secret video and sound recording systems, both stationary and mobile, as gathering evidence before adverse events (false accusations of sexual misconduct) is increasingly important, and technically possible. Sexual security is a very wide field. To contact us, please use the email address from the header.
